Such study habits nurture independent learners who are able to create new inspiration for continued self-growth. We believe that there is no such thing as a child who cannot learn. Children who say so are simply not taught the proper study habits and academic way of thinking. AIM Academy is currently looking for committed and professional individuals to join our academic team! We are an all-English after-school academy located near Ishikawacho station (Motomachi Chukagai station) in Yokohama. Applicants will mainly be teaching elementary, middle and high school students Language Arts (English), Essay Writing, and/or Math, as well as assisting them with their homework and school assignments. -All lessons are taught in a 1-to-1/1-to-3 setting and entirely in English. -This is NOT an ESL teaching position. -This part-time position is ideal for professionals and outstanding students with a passion for teaching and helping others reach their goals. Position: Applicants Must: Requirements: Work Hours: Compensation: Part-Time After-School Tutor -care about the student's learning and enjoyment throughout the lesson -be able to conduct structured yet exciting and high powered lessons -have a passion and positive attitude towards teaching -be a team player and be ready to contribute to making the classroom a positive environment for both the students and teachers -flexible to sudden changes and cancellations -is always on time and have the ability to self-manage -is a native speaker of English -have a valid working VISA in Japan -able to develop a positive rapport with students through an energetic and supportive medium -English-Japanese Bilinguals preferred (English proficiency is a must) -Teaching experience preferred -Ability to teach essay writing and middle/high school math preferred -Experience or knowledge of International Schools and the IB program preferred Classes are held Monday-Friday 15:00-20:00 Instructors usually come in to teach for around 2-4 hours a day but this may vary depending on the demand.  Students come in on a set time/day every week so once the schedule for the trimester lessons vary between 1-2 hours each and you may have an hour or two between lessons where you are not teaching.  We also have a number of students who come in for make-up lessons, so you can expect quite a lot of irregular lessons to be booked throughout the month. 2500〜/hour (1000/hour during training sessions 2000/hour during first month of teaching) Transportation will be compensated up to 1000 yen/day  If interested, please send your CV with a cover letter, photo and 3 references to info@aimacademy.jp . For those who contact us by phone, we will send you the reservation link via email. 3) Online consultation Tell us more about your current needs and requests. We will match you with one of our instructors and schedule a free trial lesson. * Depending on availability, we may not be able to book a lesson at your desired time. 4) Trial lesson Attend your online or face-to-face trial lesson. *In the case of face-to-face lessons, it is possible for parents to observe the trial lesson, but we ask that you please do so from outside the classroom to maximise student focus and concentration. 5) Sign-up procedure We will decide on the details of the lesson (fixed lesson schedule, curriculum, start date) and send you your initial invoice. The initial invoice will include the one-time sign-up fee, two months' monthly fee (if you join in the middle of the month, you will be billed per lesson for that month), and two months' administration fee. If you were referred by one of our current students, a referral discount will also be included. 6) Start your learning jouney at AIM! Now you're all set to come in for your first lesson! All other sign-up materials will be handed to you at your first lesson. For those taking online lessons, it will be mailed to you.
