We are a group of educational professionals with a mission to support and help international school students and their academic needs! From elementary school language arts to IGCSE and IB math, we are your one-stop solution! In addition to teaching the actual academic subjects, we strive to teach the HOW and WHY in studying so that our students develop strong study habits that will help them through the rest of their lives. Our goal is for each of our students to become an independent learner, who discovers and continues to develop their individual "smartness" in order to independently collect the necessary information, solve problems, and tackle new challenges without having to rely on the help from their teachers or academy or instructors. What are the “study habits” that you acquire with AIM? Self growth through proactive learning! The definition of "smart" varies from person to person. Some are good at memorization, while others are great communicators, some are good at writing, while others may have an outstanding sense of artistic taste. What these people all have in common is self-administered "study habits" - how to study, self-control to maintain concentration and motivation on their own, inquiry, the ability to set their own goals and create a detailed plan and schedule to reach them, and time management. Such study habits nurture independent learners who are able to create new inspiration for continued self-growth. We believe that there is no such thing as a child who cannot learn. Children who say so are simply not taught the proper study habits and academic way of thinking. We want every child to develop good study habits that in the long run, become the foundation of all of their learning, beyond their academic lives. After graduating from St.Maur International School in Yokohama, she entered International Christian University and started teaching English and Mathematics as a private tutor to international school students. While doing so, she also worked at cram schools and major English schools and has been involved in the education of more than 100 students. You can choose between a 1:1 lesson with 1 teacher and 1 student, or a 1:3 individual lesson with 1 teacher and 3 students. *1: In the case of 3 lessons, each student will have a private booth with a whiteboard. Private Lessons In-Person Only One instructor will teach up to 3 students in a semi-private setting. The students in the semi-private lessons will be studying different curriculums fit to their individual levels, and the instructor will take turns instructing each student. Not to be confused with the group lessons where all students will be following the same curriculum. *One instructor will only teach a maximum capacity of 3 students. Semi Private Lessons Online Only All students will learn the same material in a group setting. *All classes have a maximum capacity of 7 students. Group Lessons *Once classes are full, we will put your name on a waiting list and contact you once there is an opening. Information on schedule and lesson fees: ・Each student will have a decided lesson time slot that will be reoccurring on a weekly basis. (eg. every Mondays from 17:30-19:00), and lessons will take place as normal on Japanese National Holidays. Please refer to the AIM Calendar for long holidays and breaks. ・Lesson fees will be charged on a monthly basis. The monthly fee includes a set of 4 lessons (1 lesson/week). Please refer to the AIM Calendar for days/week that are included in each monthly fee. Lessons that are mentioned to (Start in 15min increments): ・These lessons can be started in 15 minute increments within the designated window of time. Please understand that your preferred start time may already be full. Cancellation policy: ・There are no make-up lessons or refunds available for group lessons. ・For semi-private and private lessons, cancellations must be made before 8PM of the night before the scheduled lesson in order to receive a make-up lesson. For those who contact us by phone, we will send you the reservation link via email. 3) Online consultation Tell us more about your current needs and requests. We will match you with one of our instructors and schedule a free trial lesson. * Depending on availability, we may not be able to book a lesson at your desired time. 4) Trial lesson Attend your online or face-to-face trial lesson. *In the case of face-to-face lessons, it is possible for parents to observe the trial lesson, but we ask that you please do so from outside the classroom to maximise student focus and concentration. 5) Sign-up procedure We will decide on the details of the lesson (fixed lesson schedule, curriculum, start date) and send you your initial invoice. The initial invoice will include the one-time sign-up fee, two months' monthly fee (if you join in the middle of the month, you will be billed per lesson for that month), and two months' administration fee. If you were referred by one of our current students, a referral discount will also be included. 6) Start your learning jouney at AIM! Now you're all set to come in for your first lesson! All other sign-up materials will be handed to you at your first lesson. For those taking online lessons, it will be mailed to you.
